Perspective on prints
I got a keyword that I’m interested in in the talk, which was “ spontaneous “. It inspired me to think about when I was drawing line sketch. With several artists had mentioned in the lecture, I studied and watched video of Georg Baselitz’s work to explore relationship between inner thoughts and spontaneous.
Georg Baselitz was interested in Germen expressionism and primitive sources such as folk art, children art and art of mental ill. I could feel that brush strokes in his drawing were connected with his intuitive thinking then gave viewers irritation especially he turned the art upside-down. He used unique pathway to express ideas with abstract format. As Georg Baselitz's exhibition 'Darkness Goldness' at White Cube Mason's Yard in 2020 for example, all of paintings were made by using monotype process. He took a canvas and painted image of hand on it, then put another canvas on the top to transfer original pattern to the new one. This creative process connected his thoughts with works, at the same time he was very open to all accidents.
Form Baselitz’s paintings and prints, I found that he engaged himself in each destination of creative process and directly to the goal. The process was an adventure and a construction of his artworks.
What’s makes colour? Workshop
Exploring and knowing colour were crucial purposes in the half day workshop. From identifying organic and inorganic pigments to understanding difference between pigments and dyes, I had experienced ink made by green tea and pom ink and dye made by dock, the testing drawing was the most attractive part during the workshop.
There was a specific gray on the testing paper that came from green tea and pom ink with a great smell. I used a bamboo pen to experience the magic ink by drawing some little monster. It could show slightly line draft and fill up a pattern as brash did, especially the texture this colour expressed which was like very lightly layer and could be accumulated to be darker. After the experience, I would like to use it in drawing even writing and try to create one with recipe that tutor gave me. For me, making myself an own dye of artworks is about how I build art from the beginning.
I enjoyed the transparency that pigment made by dock showed. One of my research project purposes is playing with colour. With this achievement, this organic ink helps to express the everyday, the memory and emotion in my works. Tried to accumulate transparent yellow as a test then observe the slightly change of layers, which represent a period emotion projection. I question if I could release pressure through creating art inspired close things and explore power of intimate relationship.

Curatorial practices academic research and teaching
Curation inspired and took variety perspectives of thinking experiences, which makes viewers a way to see and feel a work. In the talk, there are some of slides showed the process of how people collaborate and communicate with others to organize displays. I was attracted at the first sight by the photo there were full of boxes that stuff put into a display case. It inspired me starting to image what’s inside and what curators and artists do with them. I would like to see how people work behind an exhibition. Starting from did not know how to talk in visual form and dialogue with artists, then spend time on discussion and thinking together. The dialogue was generated to go through some questions. For instance, what do I do with this, what colour that lead me, what kind of, how… these brain storming processes are the most enjoyable and could learn from experience it.
Before MA FA unit one POP UP show, our group spent a whole day to curate and install works together. What I felt most enjoyable was looking at tutors how to decide where works should be located including consider the height in the wall, effort of light and relationship between each work. I could rethink about the located and swap or modify during installation process. On the other hand, choose a suitable way to install is a session to learn. Masking tape, needle and stapler… all have their function to show, what I am interested in is to try different methods and learn the skills with these tools. After curation, the show came out with brain storming and full of inspiration.
